After witnessing Pax’s long struggle with addiction and repeated relapses, Chris Prentiss helped develop a non–12-step, holistic approach focused on individualized care rather than one-size-fits-all treatment models. That philosophy became the foundation of Passages Malibu—created to help others break free from addiction through deeply personalized, integrative healing. Today, Pax Prentiss serves as CEO, overseeing multiple Passages locations dedicated to transformation, renewal, and long-term recovery.

Addressing the Root Causes of Addiction

Passages Malibu approaches addiction through a root-cause framework rather than a disease-based model. Their philosophy centers on identifying and resolving underlying contributors to substance use, which may include biochemical imbalances, unresolved past experiences, current life stressors, and limiting or inaccurate belief systems. Treatment is designed to help clients gain clarity around these factors, empowering them to heal at the source and create sustainable change.

Private, Luxury Healing in a World-Class Setting

At Passages Malibu, each client is supported by a dedicated team of therapists and specialists, which may include marriage and family therapists and other licensed clinicians. Clients receive an intensive level of care, with 60–80 hours of one-on-one therapy per month, alongside a wide range of holistic services such as psychotherapy, acupuncture, sound therapy, music therapy, personal training, hypnotherapy, and more.

Recovery takes place in an exceptionally private and luxurious environment. Clients stay in elegant private residences featuring panoramic ocean views, queen-size beds, spacious walk-in closets, jacuzzi tubs, aromatherapy diffusers, and daily housekeeping. Situated on 10 acres overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the campus also offers upscale amenities including outdoor dining areas, a large resort-style pool and jacuzzi, tennis courts, and a fully equipped fitness center—creating a serene setting where healing, reflection, and restoration can fully unfold.
