About The Guest House Ocala

The Guest House is a world-renowned treatment center specializing in trauma, addiction, and mental health. Located on a serene, private 52-acre estate near Florida’s Ocala National Forest, the sett

tting offers natural beauty, sunshine, and tranquility—creating an environment where deep healing can unfold. The 90-day inpatient program provides a boutique, home-like experience, with seven beautifully appointed guest suites, organic chef-prepared meals, a resort-style pool, and tree-lined equestrian trails. Every detail has been intentionally designed to help guests feel safe, nurtured, and at ease.

The Guest House takes a distinctive symptom-focused approach. Rather than treating addiction, anxiety, or depression as the problem, they view these conditions as coping mechanisms linked to unresolved trauma. Because trauma affects each person differently, their programs are highly individualized and offer an expansive range of therapeutic options. Treatment modalities include traditional talk therapies (individual, group, and family sessions), holistic practices such as meditation, yoga, equine therapy, and art therapy, and advanced clinical approaches including somatic therapy, neurofeedback, EMDR, and brain mapping.

The center is led by Judy Crane, an internationally recognized expert in trauma treatment whose leadership shapes the program’s depth, compassion, and clinical excellence. For clients who cannot commit to residential care, The Guest House also offers a day/night intensive outpatient program that delivers structured treatment in a non-residential format.

Guided by the philosophy of “love them back to health,” The Guest House ensures every person is met with compassion, dignity, and unwavering support—regardless of their history or sense of self-worth. After a day of therapeutic work, guests can unwind in tropical gardens, stroll scenic walking trails, relax in outdoor lounges, enjoy gourmet meals, or cool off in the refreshing pool. The Guest House operates as a private-pay program.

During your individual therapy sessions you will work closely with a carefully selected therapist whose expertise matches your background and needs. FAQ's of The Guest House Ocala

Our primary focus at The Guest House Ocala is trauma and the underlying issues causing self-defeating behaviors including addiction, anxiety and depression.

We are a private pay facility, but we can work with some insurance policies to assist with reimbursement. We encourage you to call the admissions department with any financial or insurance questions — our helpful staff can assess your individual situation and help determine what we can do for you.

The Guest House Ocala welcomes men and women over the age of 18. It is our policy to accept guests regardless of race, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation and gender/sexual identification.

We are a 90 day program. However, we understand that some people are not able to stay that long because of other obligations. In these cases, we ask for at least a 30 day commitment. We also offer treatment on an outpatient basis in the form of both a day/night program and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Our day/night program requires a 25-hour weekly commitment, and our IOP requires 9-12 hours of treatment per week. Guests in our Day/Night, IOP and outpatient programs receive individual therapy sessions on a weekly basis.

Because we are a small, intimate program, we are able to be flexible to your schedule. As long as your obligations are not a distraction from your healing and you clear it through your primary therapist it is possible to take care of small work and school responsibilities during your stay.

We are fortunate to have a wonderful staff of clinicians, each with their own specialties. They are all Certified Trauma Therapists with years of experience in their fields. The clinical staff is trained in many experiential modalities including conscious connected breathwork, equine therapy, somatic experiencing, art in healing, grief therapy, mindfulness and others.

Yes, we believe the family is imperative to our guests’ healing. We individualize our family program to each guest’s needs and their family’s availability. In addition, we do private intensive workshops for families.

You may bring your cell phone for travel, but we want our guests to be engaged and present in the therapeutic process so we will hold any electronics while you are in our care. You will be able to check your phone out with clinical approval to make calls and check emails during approved time frames.

Comfortable casual clothes — no more than 10 days’ worth — that can fit in a large suitcase and carry on. We provide washers and dryers. You may bring your own toiletries as long as they do not have alcohol in the ingredients. You may want to bring a favorite blanket or pillow, although we provide plenty. Anything small that is sentimental that makes you feel at home, like photos or small stuffed animals, is permitted and encouraged. We would also love for you to bring old photos of yourself that we can use for therapeutic purposes. You will be able to get out to the store, and our staff can assist you in acquiring necessities as they arise.

Our specialty is treating the effects of deep-rooted trauma — this includes addiction, but also includes mental health issues like anxiety, depression or eating disorders. Many people who struggle with addiction or a mental health disorder do not even realize that their struggle stems from an underlying issue such as childhood trauma, grief, stress or burnout. With an experienced staff of clinicians trained in Judy Crane’s model of treatment, we find these deep-seated causes of whatever is ailing you and heal your troubles from the inside, out.
