About Passages Ventura
Passages Ventura was established in 2009 by Chris and Pax Prentiss with the goal of offering a holistic alternative for individuals struggling with substance use and related challenges. The program
incorporates a range of therapeutic approaches that extend beyond traditional models, with an emphasis on individualized care and whole-person healing.
Services at Passages Ventura include medically supported detox, residential treatment, outpatient care, and access to sober living homes. The residential program places a strong emphasis on holistic and integrative therapies within a supportive, structured environment.
Individualized Treatment Planning
Each client receives a personalized treatment plan designed around their specific medical, emotional, and lifestyle needs. Upon admission, clinical staff may conduct medical assessments such as blood and urine analysis to better understand overall health and guide care decisions.
Therapeutic offerings may include psychotherapy, massage therapy, hypnotherapy, personal training, spiritual counseling, and group sessions focused on reintegration, life planning, and emotional processing. Additional holistic modalities such as reiki and mindfulness practices are incorporated as part of the broader recovery experience.
Clients are supported by a multidisciplinary treatment team, providing consistent attention and guidance throughout their stay. The Ventura facility features outdoor seating areas, gardens, and a fitness center that encourage relaxation and wellness.
Flexible Outpatient Support
Passages Ventura offers step-down levels of care through day treatment and intensive outpatient programs (IOP). Day treatment typically runs 6–7 hours per day, five days per week, while IOP involves 3–4 hours of care, three to five days per week.
These programs are designed to help clients transition from residential treatment back into daily life while maintaining structure, accountability, and therapeutic support. Clients are encouraged to develop personal goals, rebuild community connections, and continue building skills for long-term stability.
Sober Living and Continued Support Near the Coast
Passages Ventura also provides access to sober living homes located near the beach, offering a comfortable and supportive setting for continued recovery. These homes are designed to promote independence while maintaining connection to treatment resources and peer support.
The program’s philosophy centers on helping individuals understand the underlying factors contributing to substance use and supporting them in building healthier patterns, improved self-awareness, and a renewed sense of purpose.
